The perspective of Nietzsche

Destiny of Christianity. -- Christianity came into existence in order to lighten the heart; but now it has first to burden the heart so as afterwards to be able to lighten it. Consequently it shall perish.
from Nietzsche's Human, all too Human, s.119, R.J. Hollingdale transl.

My interpretation of this quote is that Christianity was created to make its believers think there is no other way but, through religion and the story of Jesus. It was fundamentally made with the pretensions to appeal to those that fear evil; the idea of Christianity was created to give the illusion to set one free through faith, but little do they know it will vanish with doubt. In today’s world religion does not play a part in day to day living, and it’s because science has overwhelmed people with the idea that the creation of this earth was by matter, energy and space; not that it was one man’s creation. When I was a child I was taught that believing that God/Jesus is the way of living ; as an adult I now think otherwise.

  1. As a young child I was taught that God created earth and all living things on earth. holding on to faith, guidance, values and morals is suppose to make someone life much easier. In todays era people are becoming more spiritual rather than being religious. As far as science, everyday scientist will discover something new about life
